Dr. Daniel L. Chen received his Oriental Medical degree from Beijing University of Chinese Medicine and Pharmacology, the most prestigious institution for Chinese medicine in China. He also holds a Master of Science degree in Molecular Biology from the University of Idaho and a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the Medical College of Ohio. With over 20 years of experience in traditional Chinese medicine and natural healthcare, Dr. Chen brings a unique blend of Eastern and Western medical practices to his patients. He also has experience practicing conventional Western medicine in China, providing him with a broad perspective on patient care.
In 1997, Dr. Chen was awarded a fellowship from the National Institutes of Health, where he conducted a year-long research project on osteoarthritis. During this time, he was involved in a clinical trial for acupuncture treatment of carpal tunnel syndrome at George Washington Medical Center in Washington, DC. From 1998 to early 2000, Dr. Chen joined the Medical Center at the University of Illinois at Chicago, where he focused on the biochemical aspects of asthma. He also served as a consultant for the Center of Integrative Medicine at George Washington University. Over the years, Dr. Chen has authored numerous scientific publications, contributing to advancements in both traditional and integrative medicine.
Currently, Dr. Chen practices holistic medicine in the northwest suburbs of Chicago and South Florida. He also serves as the Clinical Director and Advisor for the Doctor of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine program at the Atlantic Institute of Oriental Medicine. Dr. Chen is certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) and is licensed to practice acupuncture in both Illinois and Florida. Utilizing state-of-the-art electrodermal screening devices, he offers a comprehensive healing approach that combines traditional Chinese medicine with Western natural detoxification and allergy management programs. His integrated approach aims to provide holistic and personalized care for each patient, blending the best of both medical traditions for optimal health outcomes.
